eQualitie is thrilled to announce that SplinterCon is coming to the Nordics for the first time: a three-day, in-person gathering in Stockholm, Sweden, to address "The Next Frontier: Fragmentation in the Age of AI."

As fractures in the global internet expand, AI is changing both the mechanisms of network control and the way we access information. AI systems can identify, classify and respond to network activity at the infrastructure layer, at enormous scale and in real time, creating new mechanisms for surveillance and censorship and new challenges for communities attempting to access and share information.

At the same time, the way we consume information is changing. As our screen time on the internet becomes increasingly mediated through chatbots and AI-enabled tools, another splinter emerges as we drift from direct engagement with the information we consume.

Join eQualitie in Stockholm, where technologists, researchers, funders and policymakers will convene to examine how AI is impacting access, control and trust across an increasingly fragmented internet.

Further details, our call for presentations and exhibitions will be announced soon. Feel free to reach out if you have questions or would like to get involved. Write to info@splintercon.net

SplinterCon invites participants from academia, industry, government and civil society organizations working on issues around wireless communications, network measurement, decentralized protocols and services, censorship circumvention and internet freedom advocacy, among others. Travel grants are available for presenters coming from the ‘other side’ of the digital divide.
