Mitra Ardron founded GreenNet in 1985 and co-founded APC in 1989. He was very involved in internet standards for many years before focusing on technological solutions to sustainability and poverty for the last decade, starting or building several companies involved in green materials and renewable energy. Most recently he started Lumeter, which was the leading provider of pay-as-you-go technology to support access to solar energy in underserved markets. Since Lumeter's acquisition by Mobisol, he has joined the Internet Archive as the tech lead on decentralisation, with a particular focus on how to make knowledge available in places with restricted internet access.
